Cava de Oro Tequila has its roots in the early 1990s when Gildardo Partida and Leticia Hermosillo started cultivating blue Weber agaves. A small alembic was installed in the Casa Cava de Oro followed by equally small bottling equipment. Experimentation and ingenuity soon gave birth to a different kind of tequila expression. Engineer Gildardo Partida Melendrez and Tequila Master Alberto Partida crafted a premium tequila that was matured in red wine casks resulting in a unique spirit that called for an equally special bottle design with a pioneering touch the spirit flows in the specially-designed bottle cap as well this portion of the liquid serving as a gift for anyone who acquires a bottle. Naturally the production process employs traditional methods that include slowly cooking the agaves grinding the fibers using a tahona mill natural fermentation and distillation using copper pot stills over low heat.
