The LCD-2 is the rocker of the LCD line. Made for people who prefer to listen to music with their gut rather than their head. It is forgiving of technically weaker recordings. Nevertheless the LCD-2 delivers audiophile sound quality at the highest technological level with drastically reduced distortion finest resolution and plenty of spaciousness. The sound of the LCD-2 comes very close to a live concert. Designed as an open magnetostat the LCD-2 features a self-supporting stator housing made of neodymium magnets and an extremely thin diaphragm whose surface consists of 80% conductor material. This is driven using the push-pull principle resulting in a fully symmetrical driving force. The exceptionally large diaphragm area of nearly 40 cm2 ensures that the sound also covers large parts of the auricle providing a very natural spatial impression. The LCD-2 headphones from Audeze are frugal in power consumption 101 dB/1 mW and at the same time exceptionally level-resistant at 130 dB. Audeze’s proprietary Fazor technology improves control of music flow within the headphones. The result is improved phase response extended frequency range up and down velvety frequency response and remarkably three-dimensional spatial reproduction. During development great emphasis was placed on wearing comfort. Even though the headphones are relatively heavy they provide a very good and comfortable fit. Thanks to the high-quality ear pads made of lambskin leather with a large contact surface the LCD-2 does not disturb even when worn for a long time. The specially designed housings made of Rosewood wood not only give the headphones their characteristic appearance but also provide a particularly low-resonance environment for the transducers. The steel and leather headband is lightweight and durable and can be adjusted according to head size.
