The Breakthrough 72mm X4 Neutral Density 10-Stop is a circular ND filter with a filter factor of 1000x that reduces the illumination by 10 stops. The density of 3.0 causes an obfuscation of the entire image allowing you to shoot with a larger aperture or a slower shutter speed than normal. By slowing down your exposure time or increasing your aperture you can control the depth of field and transfer movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the color of the image and are ideal for coupling with other filters. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections the glass has eight layers of anti-reflective coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating MRC also increases the durability of the filter and helps to stay clean longer than uncoated filters. The Nano-coating provides an extra ninth layer over the MRC at the front resulting in an improved pearl-effect in contact with water for better cleaning. This X4 ND filter is made of Schott B270 glass for greater optical clarity and color fidelity and features a thin brass filter ring to minimize the risk of vignetting while improving durability and blockage.
