Designed to protect the deck or patio from stray embers or ash. The Blue Rooster Company Chiminea Pad is made from heavy woven fiberglass with a durable latex backing. Created specifically for use with our popular cast aluminum and cast iron outdoor fireplaces. This fire resistant pad will keep your wood or deck area looking new and is easily moved for quick furniture arrangement. Designed as protection from a stray ember or ash from a wood burning chiminea the fire resistant pad is not fireproof. It will protect your deck area from embers or a burning log until it can be placed back in the fire. It will not protect your deck from direct heat or intense direct fire. Think of it as a fire suit for your deck. A fire suit will protect you from sparks and flame but does not help in a 1200 degree oven for extended periods. The fire resistant pads keep your patio area clean and preserve the surface on your deck or patio. Our fire resistant pads meet or exceed the CPSC standard FF 1-70 for flammability of carpets and rugs. The 18″ x 36″ and 18″ x 48″ hearth pads sit in front of the outdoor fireplace making them easy to pick up for wipe down or cleaning. They can be used with any of our chiminea models or firepits. The 36″ Round pads and 36″ Front Round pads sit directly under chimineas and are recommended for use with our large cast aluminum chimineas. The large aluminum chimineas can be placed directly on the 36″ pads for extra deck protection directly under the chiminea. Placing outdoor fireplaces directly on a pad is not recommended for open fire pits cast iron chimineas or chimineas with less than a 6″ bottom clearance Pine/Garden. The hearth pads that lay in front are recommended for all chimineas outdoor and indoor fireplaces. The patio block or tile should be thick enough to insulate from continuous heat. When using outdoor fireplaces on composite decking place a fireproof barrier under pad such as patio block tile bricks or pavers. Chiminea pads are currently only available in Black.
