When you unroll the mattress and open the inflate valve the foam responds by soaking up air similar to a sponge absorbing liquid. Brushed polyester fabric on the pad’s surface provides slip-resistance and next-to-skin comfort. High-frequency welded seams and strong lamination provide reliable durability. The unique 3-D creates vertical sidewalls that enhance comfort. Glues used in sleeping pad construction are often broken down by moisture but Exped’s proprietary fabric lamination process creates airtight baffles and prevents potentially destructive moisture and bacteria from building up in the pad and destroying the glues.
