Goodyear is one of the worlds largest tire companies. It employs about 64000 people and manufactures its products in 48 facilities in 22 countries around the world. Its two Innovation Centers in Akron Ohio and Colmar-Berg Luxembourg strive to develop state-of-the-art products and services that set the technology and performance standard for the industry. Goodyears winged-foot trademark was inspired by a newel-post statuette of the Roman god Mercury in the home of Goodyear founder Frank Seiberling. Seiberling felt Mercury embodied many of the characteristics for which Goodyear products were known.
- Wide circumferential grooves drain water effectively and resist hydroplaning.
- Unique tread block sequence improves traction handling capabilities while decreasing road noise.
- Sipes offer an increased number of biting edges and provide improved traction on light snow.
- Twin steel belts by nylon improve strength durability and high-speed capabilities.
