Mix-down or transfer of digital recordings from on manufacturer’s digital recorder to another’s isn’t always straightforward. Some manufacturers’ Digital Work Stations sound Cards or DAT recorders have only S/PDIF outputs and some offer only AES/EBU inputs or vice versa. The CDL-313 by Hosa is a high quality digital link allowing simultaneous transfer of two channels of digital-audio in either to both directions between AES / EBU XLR and S/PDIF RCA. Now even though some digital recorders and workstations have only RCA-type S/PDIF connections and some have only XLR-type AES/EBU connections you can still make transfers without leaving the digital realm. An indispensable tool for the digital recordist!
