Bracket is mounted to your walls wood framing/ studs before finishing the wall with drywall or other wall board. Bracket must be mounted to framing that runs floor to ceiling no half walls. Determine What Size Quantity to Order How Many Brackets Should You Use You will want to space your brackets 16- 24 max apart. This will allow for maximum support. Do not use any fewer brackets than what should be used based on the recommended spacing. What Size Bracket Should You Use Choose a bracket size that will support at least 7/8 of the supported surface. Example Bracket Size for Project Let’s say you want to support a 20″ deep shelf desk countertop or bar along your wall. You would want to support that with a bracket measuring 17.5″ to 19.5″ deep.
