In Living Forest everyone plays as one of four spirits. Each turn you must defend against Onibis attacks whilst trying to complete one of the 3 objectives to win. Living Forest is a deck building game where you add Guardian Animal cards to your deck to help you. On your turn you draw cards to see which and how many symbols you have to spend that round. When drawing cards its a push your luck situation as you can only draw 2 solitary symbols before you loose the ability to use a second action that round. There are various actions you can take in order to spend your symbols. 1. You can add a tree to your forest board. Managing to get 12 different trees is one way to win the game. The trees also have unique on going benefits to help you throughout the game like adding permanent symbols or allowing you to take the same action twice. 1. You can extinguish some/all of the fire and add these fire tokens to your collection. Gaining 12 fire tokens is the second way to win the game. Extinguishing fire also has the added benefit of keeping Onibi at bay. If you let the fire become too great then Fire Varan cards are added to your deck which bring no benefit but bear the solitary symbol. 1. You can add new Animal Guardian cards to your deck from the face up cards available. The animals give you the ongoing benefits of the use of their symbols on any turn that you draw them. 1. You can move forward on the circle of spirits and take the action you land on. The last way to win is by collecting 12 sacred flowers to awaken Sanki the great Guardian of the Forest. You collect these on animal cards and trees. Protect the sacred tree collect flowers plant trees and extinguish fires chose the best tactic for you all with the help of the Guardian Animals.
