Shimano XT Disc Rotor uses high-tech construction and design to reduce heat and improve braking response. Ice Tech design offers advanced heat control for disc brake systems. The outer layers of the rotor are made of stainless steel which are bonded to an aluminum core. This design captures the best of both worlds the durability and powerful braking response of stainless steel along with the light weight and heat dissipation of aluminum. The strong aluminum spider dissipates even more heat and adds rigidity. Lower rotor operating temperatures means less power fade and improved brake pad longevity. This disc rotor is available in 160 mm or 180 mm sizes. Not compatible with center lock hubs.
- Shimano Ice-Tec rotors are made from a stainless steel / alloy 3-layer sandwich construction that dissipates heat faster.
- When used with Ice-Tec pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300 deg C.
- Ice-Tec rotors promise longer pad life less noise and less fade due to improved heat dispersion.
- 6-bolt mounting system.
- Rotor contact surface has been developed for excellent pad clearing and cooling which increases pad performance and life.
- Large forged alloy spider supports rotor surface increasing rigidity and reducing weight.
- Especially recommended for long downhills.
