The Shires Deluxe Grass Muzzle is a super accessory to limit the food intake and help control weight of obese horses. Obesity puts horses and ponies at risk of laminitis and developing other diseases such as Cushing’s later in life. It is hard on their joints and organs! This simple and comfortable muzzle allows grazing and allows the horse to be able to socialize with others while having to work harder to access a limited amount of grass! Having a small volume of feed continually entering the digestive system is a much healthier and more natural way for a horse to be fed. This muzzle fits over the horse’s nose and has a small hole at the bottom that grass and enter through and be bitten off for consumption. The nylon webbing that builds the rests of the muzzle and the harness that is fully adjustable for the horse’s head is strong and flexible. It enables the horse to drink freely while wearing the Shires Deluxe Grass Muzzle. There is a fleece wool lining around the edge of the muzzle to prevent rubs and make it extra comfortable for the horse to wear. This grazing muzzle is available in different sizes to assist in controlling the volume of feed intake.
