The concept of the Contemporary product line balances performance and handiness. The lens features a single lightweight focusing element so the AF unit can also be kept small. Together with a quiet and fast stepping motor this ensures responsive and virtually silent autofocus performance. The 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary weighs 470g on its own and just 890g when combined with the Sigma fp for example.
