With the Clash V2 98 Tennis Racquet Wilson improves on their most flexible performance frame. For starters the look is revamped with a anodized infrared finish and embossed Clash logo. Similar to the Blade V8 racquets the Clash 98 features the biodegradable Agiplast bumper and grommets which reduces waste while maintaining high performance. Wilsons FortyFive frame technology features updated carbon mapping which improves the racquets flex but it also still maintains -in-class stability. With version 2 Wilson re-engineered the construction of the top of the frame for greater precision and a softer feel at contact. The enhancement results in a 16% larger sweet spot when compared to version 1.0. Another change from the previous model is the new 16×20 string pattern which should provide greater control and string durability for big hitters. The Wilson Clash V2 98 is 10.9 ounces unstrung and it holds its own against pace better than the lighter Clash models. The revised construction at the tip denser string pattern and larger sweet spot should appeal to advanced players who were on the fence about switching to version 1. Keep in mind the Clash 98 is the most control oriented of all the Clash racquets and it feature a thinner 24 millimeter cross section as well.
